ABOUT ME

The written word has been in my blood since I was a small child. Growing up in a third world country, we didn't have a lot of TV, so my grandmother would read poetry to me instead. I would beg her to read the same poem over and over again until I memorized it and could spring it on unsuspecting strangers on the street. Since then, I have voraciously devoured every book, poem and article I could get my hands on and battled a very serious Half-Price Books addiction.

I was eleven when I immigrated to America in order to escape the bloody revolution happening in my home town. I understood very little about this country and less about the language, and I had a lot of difficulties. My only refuge was writing. Instead of spending time with friends (which were few and far between) I would spend entire days dreaming up stories on Windows 95. I wrote my first novel when I was twelve. It was terrible, but I had caught the bug.

When it was time to go to college, and choose a path for my life, I could not think of a better choice. I majored in Creative Writing and Theatre, both of which took me deep into the artistic world. It was here that I discovered my passion for poetry in form and playwrighting. It was during this time that I wrote two plays and started my novel CHANGERS.

Currently I am seeking representation for CHANGERS and starting work on two other projects I have been keeping on the back burner.
